Root canal treatments are more easily accomplished today than ever before using mechanical instrumentation with rotary nickel titanium instruments.  With this technique, after thorough anesthesia,  the nerve tissue in the canals of the roots of teeth can be rapidly removed. The canals are sterilized, dried and sealed in much less time than with hand instrumentation.  Most treatments are completed in one office visit with little or no post operative pain.

These pictures show before and after results of a Root Canal Treatment on a third molar (wisdom tooth).  This particular tooth is most difficult to do because of its location in the mouth; however with rotary endodontics, the procedure was performed in just one visit and approximately one hour.
